Heortland is the old country, where your tribe once dwelt before leaving for Dragon Pass. It was founded by king Heort who united the tribes under his banner and established a powerful nation in the time when the Gods had already departed. Whether or not his rule was peacable, balanced or warlike depends upon your choices during clan creation.
Ultimately though, King Heort and Heortland are an important part of Orlanthi history and his wisdom is considered legendary. Heortland was conquered, long after his death, by the Pharaoh.
Heortland once knew a peaceful rule during the reign of the Only Old One, who was a troll. He was killed by the Pharaoh.
