Happens when | Recruiting clans to form tribe |
A clan that regards shamans more highly than priests is extremely unusual among the Orlanthi, but having them among the tribe can prove to be a great asset: their War Rock will enhance the tribe's weaponthanes if sacrificed to, and it'll be easier to find shamans when you need them (and, if you asked them for loyalty pledges, won't charge you during events).
Event Dialogue[]

Your emissaries approach Clan <X>, known for its guardianship of a holy rock with war powers, to ask if they want to join the new tribe. The <X clan> demand that the new tribe treat shamans with the same respect accorded to priests. They want each clan in the tribe to sacrifice to the spirit of the War Rock. They also want both the Humakt seat and one of the Thunder Brothers seats on the Clan Council.

Consequences[]
This clan seems more interested in the respect for the shamans and the War Rock than in joining a tribe, so you might be able to persuade them simply by agreeing to the sacrifices, and the respect.
- Negotiating sacrifices to the War Rock will lead you to decide how many cows each clan should sacrifice to the War Rock each year, the minimum being 1, and the maximum being 10. A larger sacrifice will please the War Rock Clan more, and also confer a greater magical benefit to you.
- If you agree to respect shamans, you will be asked to choose the amount of respect to give to the shamans, keeping in mind that they want equal respect, will not easily concede on this point. Something else to bear in mind is that other Orlanthi don't respect shamans as much, so this may prove to be a sticking point in later negotations.
- Equal respect for priests and shamans,
- More respect for the shamans than usual, but the priests will still be more important,
- Only tokens of respect for the shamans.
- They are less interested in the seats on the council, so you may get away with just the respect for the shamans, or only one of the two seats they asked for.
- You can allay the worry some of the other clans in your nascent tribe have by demanding loyalty pledges from shamans and the rock spirit. This displeases the War Rock Clan, though, so be ready to appease some of their other demands.
- If nothing else, you can give gifts to sway the War Rock Clan. The more cattle/goods you give, the better the response.
- If you don't come to agreement, or decide to cast your efforts elsewhere, you can abandon negotiations. However, any gifts you gave will stay with this clan.
