KingorQueenElection

Event Dialogue[]

Now that you have other clans wanting to join with you and become a tribe, you must choose a king. The king must be able to lead and protect the people of the tribe; he or she must be strong and generous. Once a candidate is chosen, that candidate must design and complete a sacred ritual unique to your tribe. All future kings will have to undergo these rites as well.

  1. Nominate a member of your clan.
  2. Support a candidate from the clan most obligated to you.
  3. Support a candidate from the strongest fighting clan.
  4. Support the candidate who is most generous to you.
  5. Wait, then throw support to whoever seems poised to win.

Consequences[]

  • Nominating a member of your own clan is the only way for you to become the King/Queen of the tribe. If you aren't elected, don't worry, you haven't lost the game, you will just have to wait a while before the next elections. It goes without saying that the better your relations with the other clans in the tribe, the better chance you will have of winning. In order to have the best chances at becoming King/Queen, you will have to give away a fairly large number of cows/goods, and have a strong lawspeaker or leader to argue your case. You may choose the one of the following ring members to promote your chosen candidate:
    • Your lawspeaker: If you have someone with strong Custom and Bargaining skills, and is a Lhankor Mhy worshipper, you should choose this option.
    • The candidate himself: If your candidate is someone with exceptional Leadership skills, this could work well.
    • Your best poet: Someone with strong Custom and Leadership skills could give you the edge you need to win the race to kingship.
    • Your war leader: The best warrior on the ring may be able to convince your tribe-mates that you can protect them.
    • Your best farmer: Your ring member with the best Plant and Animal skills may be appeal to the more down to earth clans, convincing them that your clan can provide stability in the food department.
    • Your trickster: Your trickster could trick everyone into thinking you're the best candidate...or not. Tricksters are unreliable, so use with caution.
  • You can support a candidate of any other clan you choose, and your reputation with that clan will raise. If they win, your relations will increase slightly more. Additionally, you will gain cows if you support another clan's candidate.
