This has probably been posted on a huge number of forums all over the internet, but does anyone know of games similar to King of Dragon Pass? I know I can't think of any.

Banner Saga is inspired a bit by King of Dragon Pass, though IMO it’s a very different game.
Fellow Wikiaers hello!
I'm a fan of KoDP and I've been looking for a similar game for a decade or so. Do any of you know whether A# intends to make KoDP 2? Do they need a gentle push in the right direction (like a petition)?
P.S. I'm usually on the Fallen London (Echo Bazaar) wiki - it's a browser visual novel/choose your adventure/somewhat of a MMORPGer with a rich world that some of you may like. It's a game I found when I was looking for KoDP-style games. It's almost entirely free (very few stories require payment, and even that can be optional) and you might enjoy it.
It would be great to be able to do another KoDP-like game, but no, a petition won’t help.
Fallen London is KoDP-like in that it is driven by narrative choices, but otherwise is quite different. Except that it’s also a good game. (The designers were inspired by KoDP.)
I thought that a petition might signal that a sequel could be profitable. Additionally, the financial success of Banner Saga shows that Kickstarter is a viable option.
Anyway, did A# say why they won't make a sequel?
I hope Banner Saga is a financial success, but haven’t seen anything to suggest this. (Presumably most of their Kickstarter went to funding development and fulfilling rewards.) Of course, it has not been on the market that long, so it may not be possible to know.
A# mentions a couple of factors Vae Victis, but it mostly boils down to cost. One thing is for sure, it would have to be rebuilt from the ground up since a lot of the stuff they use is no longer available.
However, after seeing certain visual novels get made, I do think it could be done with some of the engines out there like RenPy.
As for the financial success of Banner Saga, Stoic did say they were already planning on a sequel. Truth be known, the biggest impediment (at least the one mostly in the news) is that a company named King is trying to squash Stoic's use of the word Saga.
The Escapist has a couple articles about what I mentioned above.
King/Banner Saga Trademark Use:
Working on a Sequel:
If the main factor is money then there is still hope for a sequel. And I have to agree with you about RenPy - from what I've seen on Loren the Amazon Queen it looks like a versatile engine.
At any rate, if ever any rumors about a sequel do pop up, please let me know. I'll try to stir my little neck of the woods (I'm pretty sure that KoDP would appeal to many FL fans) and hope that A# won't have a second financial disaster.
Obviously, I can't speak for A#, but I for one would love to see a sequel made. I know some people broached the idea of a Kickstarter way back when on GoG as well.
And from what was done with Loren, as well as a couple other games, RenPy certainly seems like it would be doable. The other obstacle would certainly be size. KoDP certainly is bigger than any game/visual novel I can think of which is done on RenPy.
Just from what I've seen with RenPy, this could also be a good alternative. It can certainly be updateable (such as Hanako Games Long Live the Queen). It is fairly easy to have ports on Windows, Linux, and Mac (almost every site which sells games using RenPy has all three versions avaiable).
And if I find out more information, I will certainly let you know. I may not be the first to discover it, but it would surely be done.
When I mentioned RenPy, I meant if the game was remade for other OS's...and RenPy might be a good fit with allowing Windows, Linux and Mac.
